It is easier than you think to build a smash cake.
Decorating Your Smash Cake
I decorated the cake on the cake stand to avoid ruining the frosting when I moved the cake. I used pink frosting that came in a tube with a star shaped piping tip, and placed a border around the top of the cake. I then added pastel sprinkles to the center. Using green frosting, I applied some 'grass' to the bottom edges, then used green frosting to secure two bunnies and the mushrooms along the bottom sides. I placed three small faux tulips along the side, and secured in the back with scotch tape. Finally, I added a 'one' sign and a final bunny to the top of the cake.
